BMW and PSA Peugeot put an end to their partnership engines

BMW and PSA Peugeot will cease cooperation with petrol engines 1.4 and 1.6 liters. Their agreement expires in 2016 and will not be renewed.

The reason for the "divorce" after about 10 years of cooperation is most likely technology developed by BMW, which is no longer compatible with that of the French.
"Since PSA starts alliance with GM, the roads we have built together failed. The industrial logic became different," says a source close to BMW.
The end of the partnership will be a blow for French engineering factory Douvrin, which produces more than 3.1 million engines since 2006 in the framework of this cooperation, the newspaper "Eco".
A year ago, BMW and PSA Peugeot announced the end of their cooperation in hybrid vehicles.
