The concept Cross Coupe GTE will hit the market next year
Volkswagen showed Detroit Motor Show hybrid prototype Cross Coupe GTE. It is a precursor of serial crossover, whose production will start in 2016. The prototype is entirely in the style of the two concepts of the brand, shown in 2013 - CrossBlue and CrossBlue Coupe.
Model length is 4846 mm, width - 2029 mm, and height - 1735 mm. Shown in Detroit machine has 5 places, but as a representative of brand production version will be 7 as the main market for the model will be the United States. In the final version of the crossover will be changed and the silhouette, which will become more sporty.
Volkswagen Cross Coupe GTE is equipped with a hybrid engine with 355 hp, which includes the 3.6-liter petrol V6 FSI, two electric motors and a set of lithium-ion batteries, placed in the center of the vehicle. The gearbox is a robotised DSG, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h takes about 6 seconds.
Fuel consumption declared by the manufacturer is 3.6 l / 100 km and only electricity crossover can travel 32 kilometers. For most economical travel arrangements were Eco sub. Besides him, the driver can choose between Comfort, GTE (sports) and several modes of poor road conditions - snow, sand, stones and mud.
The interior is made in the style of prototypes and CrossBlue CrossBlue Coupe. HC, the instrument management is performed using a 10-inch touch screen multimedia system, which is duplicated by the second, located underneath. The instrument panel has a 12.3-inch screen.
Manufacturing production version of the Cross Coupe GTE concept will be launched at the end of 2016 at the plant of Volkswagen in Chattanooga (USA).
